Well, we had a very calm day for our 20 nautical mile trip to Waupoos. We started out sailing but weren’t making much headway so we decided to motor/sail for most of the way.
The west side of Waupoos Island was the perfect spot to anchor for the upcoming Northeast winds so that’s where we decided to drop the hook. It took us only one try in the muddy bottom!
After settling in and dinner we dinghied the 15 minute ride to the Waupoos Marina on the mainland. It was very quiet.
Back at the boat, the sunset was beautiful.

We headed to the Blue Moose cafe at the marina for breakfast early enough to beat the rain.
The rest of the day was spent on Guinevere, due to the cold and rainy weather. Despite the rain, we had an enjoyable, relaxing day. We read, did a couple small odd jobs on the boat, had long naps, and I made a couple nice meals. I quickly hopped in and out the very cold water to clean up a bit. I ran past Rick in my bathing suit while he sat in the cockpit with his winter coat on.
Tomorrow, we hope to explore more of Waupoos. It may continue to rain, though. If that’s the case, we’ll enjoy more of this luxurious time of forced relaxation.
